To me, The Black Keys serve as a reminder as to how good music could be if bands refuse to sell out. Growing up with The Keys in the Midwest, I have followed them, and been attending their shows for the past 5 years. I've introduced more than 20 people to them at their shows, who email me saying, "Just told my buddy about he Keys, He loves them." Paying it forward and spreading the Keys goodness across the country.

The Black Keys get an amazing sound for a 2 man band, playing distortion injected blues and garage tunes with all the finery of the Sonics (Have Love Will Travel was a great choice for a cover) and blues greats like Howlin' Wolf and Junior Kimbrough (a la Chulahoma) combined together. I've loved the blues since I was little, being introduced to Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan's music at a young age by my father. Later on I discovered the Nuggets series, and wound up loving Garage Rock as well, especially bands like the Sonics, Miracle Workers, Hypstrz, and Mummies. The Black Key's tied all my love of blues, distortion, and garage into a rockalicious concoction which I come back to constantly. Even if I don't wind up being able to see you guys later this October, thank you so much for your music, its inspired me to play the way I play and is some of the best music to just relax with or rock out too on any day of the week.
