I reckon it’s only a matter of time until Brad Pitt and Justin Timberlake team up to lip synch Black Keys tunes for a cover album or a performance at an awards night. Maybe they’ll play Dan and Pat in an authorised film bio-pic?
I’m thinking Brad Pitt will be on drums and JT will will be on guitar and vocals.
I mention this because JT is a fan of The Black Keys. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly JT explained:
“I mean, I listen to everything,” he says. “I’ve been going back and forth between Kings of Leon’s latest album and the Black Keys. I really love their Attack and Release. I thought that was a really great record.”
JT’s declaration comes after Brad Pitt recently outed himself as a fan also. Aint nothing wrong with that.
I love “their Attack and Release” too just like you, JT.

Am I the only one here who feels just a whee bit disurbed to hear of news like this? Hopefully Justin Timberlake will never have anything to do with TBK. Otherwise pop whores like Justin Timberlake & other N’Sync rejects should not even be mentioned in the same breathe as The Black Keys. Ya feel me??
@johnny Spoken like a true fan. You can ask for no more than that.
i with you here. i sincerely hope they don’t “mainstream” their work and turn into nickelback or something.
on another note, am i the only one who wasn’t a big fan of attack and release? i only liked a couple of songs off it. i thought it was overproduced, they lost that raw powerful sound. and the fact they so many ppl liked it, i hope they doing something more along the lines of thickfreakness and rubber factory
@joe No, I don’t think you’re the only one who didn’t like Attack and Release. Personally, I liked what they were trying to and did achieve. It will certainly be interesting to see if a “raw powerful sound” is placed back front and centre for the next album.
Maybe Brad and Angelina can convince TBK to do a “charity” show in South Africa.
This may be the only way I’ll ever be able to witness their greatness live…I wouldn’t even care if JT opened for them.
@Joe. I am of the same opinion and trying to maintain hope that both TBK and the Kings of Leon return to the dirty sounds of their birth.
@scott awesome suggestion. I’m sure dan and pat would love the opportunity hehe
I love the Black Keys and I for one always find it very cool when I hear someone likes the Black Keys. Especially when it is someone I wouldn’t necessarily expect to, like Justin Timberlake. I never liked N*Sync and while I do like two of Timberlake’s solo songs, I’m not a big fan of his. But I think it’s really lame when people will sit there and say, “Oh gross, Justin Timberlake shouldn’t be mentioned when talking about the Black Keys,” even though all that was said is that he likes their music.
