Blakroc: Trend Tracking

Blakroc searches on Twitter and Google have been peaking recently. Not surprising since the album dropped on November 27.

The graphs below track the fans searching via Google and mentioning “Blakroc” on Twitter over the last few weeks.

Some significantly healthy numbers there.

The media campaign from John Peets (The Black Keys’ Manager @ Q Prime) and Damon Dash to introduce weekly videos, product placement and limited release magazine and radio interviews seems to have paid off. Certainly hitting #1 on the iTunes hip hop chart must owe something to the pr.

The combo of rock and rap has brought two aspects of the music industry industry together bringing added hype.

No doubt we haven’t seen the end of it.
