It’s now two years since this music fan-site started covering everything and anything about The Black Keys band. Two years and 152 posts has flown by – this last year especially.
The site was started just before Attack & Release was released. Now Brothers is around the corner. At times like these fans renew their interest in the band, new fans will discover the ‘Keys. It’s something I referenced in my one year anniversary post – there’s always so much to look forward when you’re a fan of a band.
I’m pleased this site is now more readable, with a few more features, as I’ve become more tech-confident. Thanks to The Wizard, for waving your magic wand over things when needed and ongoing advice.
Much of the evolution has occurred over the last 9 months after The Black Keys ditched their Forum. The opportunity to add a forum to this site fast-forwarded some planned upgrades and necessitated a step out of any perceived comfort zone.
When the site was set up I made up a few goals. They weren’t goals just because I was now blogging, they were set to keep some focus. I figured if I did, others wouldn’t, and good things might necessarily follow. I’m yet to be proved wrong, I feel like the site is now only just warming up.
I’m still the fan I started out as and I’ve been pleasantly surprised that my appreciation for the band has only increased. As you can see below, I’ve much more to aim for.
Goals:
1. Meet Dan and Pat – done
2. Interview the band – done (well, Pat at least)
3. Watch a show side of stage
4. Follow a tour going to multiple gigs
5. Get Dan and Pat over for a bbq at my place on the next tour when they pass through my home city
