It’s hard to find any fan of the The Black Keys who doesn’t think the black and white videos of The Black Keys live at Grimeys Records, Nashville, from 2006 are not stone cold classics.
Now fans’ can rejoice. A “new” video has been added to the collection from that auspicious set.
The Black Keys @ Grimeys – “Set You Free”
The Black Keys Fan Lounge previously featured the other two songs posted “Your Touch and “Grown So Ugly” back in 2008. What wasn’t posted or sought was how these video’s came to be.
The Black Keys Fan Lounge recently contacted sneevideo who posted the videos to YouTube to ask about their creation. And, hopefully, if there was anymore footage to post.
Sneevideo helpfuly replied:
We shot 5 songs if I remember correctly and I only edited three…so I think there may actually be one more song from that day somewhere. I don’t think I ever posted it though. As for how we ended up filming the performance: I am friends with some of the folks that work at Grimey’s records and we also had a couple of friends that were working he Black Keys at the time as well. So we just thought it would be fun to film the show and they were all into the idea. It was one of the first in-store performances that they had at Grimey’s and have since had many amazing shows. It is a very cool indie record store…one of for tthe best in the nation in fact. So if you are ever in Nashville you should check them out.
Some friendly prompting took back sneevideo back into the vaults to post this footage of “Set You Free”. Unfortunately the other two songs weren’t edited and there’s not time or money to get it done now. Hopefully over time they’ll be made available to fans.
For now, sit back and enjoy this new footage. Thanks sneevideo on behalf of all fans

I also really like this version of the same song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCEO9Jay-Ns
Pat is tearing it up here!! (no surprise)
Once again, great stuff Brucini…always digging for those nuggets.
I know I have said it before, but the Grimey’s “Your Touch” video is what got me hooked on TBK. I heard the song a couple times on radio and then a Lee Jeans commercial and when I googled it, the first thing I checked out was that video. It’s also the first thing I link friends to when trying to turn them on to the band…if they don’t dig that, forget it.
Thanks sneevideo….waiting for more some day.
awesome work Brucini.
