Ah, yes the ol' Town and Country. I have one - it is buried somewhere in the post your gear thread. It can be a crap shoot with those things. It is older than my mom and the neck isn't in great shape but you can tell those pickups had a rad sound in their prime (still good, but age hasn't been great for them).

Man, assuming it is the same guitar, I was really close to pulling the trigger when I saw it on ebay too. But due to it not being stock, I passed since I had to keep in mind that if I ever resold it down the line, people would try to lowball me saying its missing the coveted Valco pickups. Must be a killer guitar if they're using it in the studio now though!

Trust me, it's very hard to differentiate the color of a sunburst finish in a picture. In some lighting, my guitar looks almost orange, while in others it looks dark brownish.

As there hasn't been any big release of documentation from the studio sessions, it would be difficult to say exactly what pedals, amps, guitars, and mics were used for every song. The best we can do is look at what was used live during each album's corresponding tour, the few studio photographs, and judge things by ear. There are many threads on the forum, so I suggest you delve in and take a look.

Yo,
What we know so far for sure, is that TBK are using this guitar (wherever it comes from...) for their next recording!!!
Look at Pat playing on it in the studio! Maybe will be the next live guitar! who knows...

Hey guys! I just wanted to match pedals with songs, mainly what dan uses live. Now I believe he just uses the big muff the companion fuzz and the shin-ei wha. But which in what song?

help!

It wasn't too clear did you use two choppers for both pickup positions or did you use a chopper t pickup for the bridge?

If you used a regular chopper for the bridge how did you mount it?

Also how did you go about mounting the neck pup under the pickguard? Just screw right into the body?

Did you shim your stratotone's neck? How did you keep the action at a reasonable angle?
