I stopped by moe.down on my way to Massachusetts. It's the first Jam Band festival I've been to, and it was eerily reminiscent of my youth. A lot of tie dye, patchouli, frisbees, hula hoops and jiggley boobs. There were a lot of bands that tried to sound Deadish, but mostly didn't make it, and one little girl with a whole r&b group behind her that sounded like Lydia Pence(In Cold Blood). The setting was beautiful, and the whole "scene" really was great fun(although it did make me feel my age). The sound was, hands down, the best for an outdoor festival, that I've been to in the Black Keys era. No matter where I stood, the sound was loud, full, balanced and crisp.
TBK were different than everybody else there, and I think they played a very good set. The gate was about 6500, and we laughed afterwords, that the boys had created 6500 new fans who'd steal their music off the internet. C'est la vie.
The thing I came away with, however, that really sticks out, is how terrific Dan and Pat are. They're just good kids. They try very hard not to get caught up in their celebrity, and to just be normal guys. I'm not saying they're perfect, but they're a lot more perfect than most would be in their situation. They're still passionate about what they do, and they don't take their fans or their good fortune for granted.
I'm glad I stopped. It was good seeing them.

Anyone here going besides myself? I'm interested to see how long TBK actually have the stage. The Whigs open, followed by TBK, followed by KOL. Hopin to get a good hour and a half anyway!

Has anyone seen them play together yet? Brandy was nice enough to give tickets to my brother and me through the twitter contest last week. Ive never been down to Cincinnati for a show and im not sure I like the set up they have. Hopefully the tickets Brandy gave out are Pit or close to the stage in the seats.

Super solid show, again very high energy from crowd. Crowd surfing was out of control, dan was getting a huge kick out of it. In fact, he stopped singing mid song on ill be your man for about 30 seconds because some kid got dumped on his head and dan couldn't stop laughing. I had at least 10 occurances of people flying over the rail on top of me, a little annoying but it fit the vibe. There is no doubt that dan is really enjoying this wave of success, and it shows on stage. This was by far and away the hottest show I've been to, I left absolutely dripping with sweat. The setlist I got after the show only had 18 songs on it, they ended up playing 19. A bit shorter than the other shows I've seen on this tour. No 10 am or same old thing which were odd ommissions. I hate no trust hasn't been making it lately either, guess that's just part of the band moving forward. We almost got fucked by the fillmore's skip the line tickets that I had never heard of, but a real nice guy and fellow keys fan from the venue understood our frustration and hooked us up. We got usual spot, catastrophe averted. Big thanks to j for doing that. All in all, a great way to end this leg of the tour. Its gonna be hard not having a show to go to on almost a bi-weekly basis, its crazy how addicting seeing these guys can be. I hope the rumors of them hitting the midwest again in the winter are true. Hope all you fans out west keep us posted on what's going on once that leg of the tour kicks off.

is anyone else going tonight? Im pretty excited to see them again based on the reviews of the shows this year. I woke up today to a text telling me I was chosen as a winner to go into the Soundcheck party and hopefully meet the band!!! I hope I get to stay in there so I can have a spot on the rail.

I can't remember who the lady is here who is involved with the label. I really need to get a couple on stage Thursday at The Ryman to get engaged (it's a surprise!). They will also be happily married before the Birmingham show in September. A little help please?
