Now they have a lot of time to make the 10th Forecastle completely awesome. I&#39;m hoping for my band to get a spot in the Halfway show. Since there isn&#39;t a true Forecastle this summer I&#39;m sure that Halfway is going to get 3 times more attention/publicity. JK McKnight (founder) said they would be expanding the hell out of halfway. However, this years festival will be considered the <em>&quot;Halfway to Forecastle&quot;</em>, and take place <strong>July 8th and 9th</strong>. And the <strong>10th Anniversary Forecastle Festival</strong> will be in <strong>2012.</strong> So it seems like this summers &quot;Halfway&quot; <em>(which usually takes place in January)</em> will be scaled down and that is why they are not calling it a full fledged <em>Forecastle Festival</em>. Confusing. From everyone I&#39;ve talked to it&#39;s not going to happen this year. I have been trying to get my band in the festival since we&#39;re in Louisville, but they haven&#39;t opened it up for any submissions. I&#39;ve gone to the past two and had an amazing time. If you didn&#39;t go last year, it actually moved to waterfront park for more space. Great place for a festival - right along the banks of the Ohio river. They had some great acts last year too: spoon, cake, smashing pumpkins, devo, flaming lips, she &amp; him, minus the bear, grace potter, widespread panic... seriously, I could just keep going.</p> <p>This festival was the first time I ever saw the keys live. It turned me from a fan into a superfan.</p> <p>And speaking of them being by the pool, I totally walked right past pat (with a beer in hand) at the back entrance by the pool during the day, before they played.
