That seems like such a bizarre grouping of songs/artists to me. TBK, Mumford & Sons, Cake, Florence and the Machine, Cake and Interpol among fucking Thirty Seconds to Mars, MCR and Linkin Park? Still, you're right, KROQ is a pretty big-deal station.

(Coincidentally, I have listened to "Little Lion Man" about five times tonight. Sigh No More is a pretty great album all together.)

Yeh Mumford and sons are the shit! But yeh tighten up is good but for chrissakes!

April mumford and sons did a collab with Laura marling and the dahar project I think it's called. Some kind of Indian group anyway with all old school Indian style stuff. Last I saw on iTunes it was only available in the UK but you might be able to find it somewhere. I heard a track off of it and it was really cool. 4 track ep I think it was.
Also little lion man got number 1 In Triples J's ( the best radio station in oz) hottest 100 songs of the year.

@tbkmagic The Indian music collaboration sounds very cool. I'll definitely try to track that down.

Mumford & Sons are currently touring with one of Dan's producing jobs, Cadillac Sky. I'm gutted that they aren't bringing their joint tour to Cleveland, as I can't imagine it being any less than a spectacular show. But I'm looking forward to seeing C-Sky again when they hit Cleveland in March. Those boys have a crazy amount of energy and talent.

So KROQ loooooves the guys. Of course. Finally.

They were on Kevin and Bean yesterday and I missed it. Did anyone hear it?

Here's an article recapping it. http://kroq.radio.com/2011/02/10/the-black-keys-talk-tunes-tuxedos-and-gambling-tears-with-kevin-bean/

The comments are sayin' it was pretty awkward. LOL. Awesome. Dan's new style is lookin' good!

In their typical tongue-in-cheek fashion, Auerbach quipped ironically:

“Yeah, it’s not like we were really trying when we made the record. We did sort of everything you would do not to be played on the radio. Making the record in the middle of Alabama in a cinderblock building that wasn’t a studio. You know, that kind of stuff…That’s sort of what we’ve been honing. Our skills at not getting played on the radio. That’s been our goal…We failed on this record.”

HAHAHA! And:

Highlighting their caustic charm, The Black Keys began to sarcastically joke about their “side jobs” as “casino carpet installers.” Carney said acerbically, “our houses are both carpeted in casino carpet. That’s what we do on the side; We design hotel and casino carpeting."

Auerbach retorted, “You know how they design that to hide puke stains and stuff…Puke and tears…Your children just start disappearing into the carpet.” Shaking his head, Carney replied, “It’s not that simple. It’s designed so that you feel like you are in a place that you have no respect for whatsoever. ”

Ah, Dan's hair! Heeheehee!

I heard part of it yesterday, but I think I tuned in in the middle, and my feed kept dropping out. It wasn't as awkward as it comes across in print, though. And Dan and Pat riffing on casino carpet was hilarious.

If there aren't pictures of the guys in tuxes available for my perusal the next day, I'm going to be sore.

Nice - I hope they get some time to hang with Conan rather than just play Tighten UP as the credits roll. I'd love to see Pat and Conan out-awkward each other.

I was out tonight at some punk bar. I was taking a piss and I heard some girl debating whether or not to play some KISS on the jukebox and I heard three people say "Play some fuckin' Black Keys" I shouted enthusiastically from the bathroom but I don't think anyone heard me. I also heard remember when side b and all you ever wanted on the jukebox earlier that night. Also I might be drunk so I just decided to post this here. Good night ya'll.
