Obviously there is the new Keys album in April, and I'm assuming Blakroc II will drop. Would be quite surprised if one of the other Keys albums came out this year but there is always hope.

I'm real excited for Vampire Weekend's new CD next week. Got a chance to stream it on myspace, and liked what I heard.

White Stripes and the Dead Weather are supposed to have new releases

In Keys-related bands, I've read Hacienda is supposed to come out with a new album which should be exciting. Is Dan producing them again?

Panda Bear from Animal Collective is working on a new solo album which I'm hoping comes out in 2010.

And, hopefully the Stones come out with something by the end of 2010. They were rumored to have Jack White producing which hopefully generates some hype. Hope Mick & Co. can end their careers with a great CD.

I'm sure there are tons more I've forgot and I'll be listening to. What are you looking forward to?

Definitely The Black Keys next release tops my list, followed by The White Stripes. It'd be nice to see Cosmic Wheels release something, still can't believe they are yet to be signed! Seems like Buffalo Killers should be releasing something soon. If you don't yet have Let it Ride, their 2nd album, i highly recommend it. And i wouldn't put it past Dan Auerbach to throw down some tracks prior to the Keys release in the spring. Ahh, music is good again. And the future looks bright!

I have read that Dan is a workaholic. He's constantly creating, to the point that it drives his family nuts. So seeing that the Keys album is wrapped up, and now is in the mixing and final touches stage, it would appear that Dan has time to lay down some tracks. I don't think he would release it yet, not till after the Keys release and subsequent tour. So it could be a year till we'd hear such an album. I'd like to see him do a cover album,like Chulahoma except this time all acoustic. Maybe have harmonica accompaniment (me).(wishful thinking, but hey, i could be at Akron Analog in an hour, and would play for free)

They are offering Contra on Amazon today for $3.99. Good deal. I will prob still pick up the cd later.

Any idea about when the Hacienda album may be released?

Also, lenghts, Vampire Weekend is now number one on the Billboard charts for the week. Quite happy they beat out Susan Boyle for the week. Surprised they are that popular, I think I've heard them on the radio maybe two times.

After giving the album a few listens, I've really come to enjoy Contra. Great flow, and the song I did not like at first (I think ur a Contra) has really grown on me. What are your thoughts about it?

Anybody else into Fleet Foxes? They should have a new album sometime mid/late 2010...
And goddamn, I really hope something happens with the Cosmic Wheels this year.
