There was an additional show in a new casino/resort in Atlantic City after the last day of the tour. Did anyone else go to this show? I was curious to see if anyone else also felt like it was a rushed show. Then again, considering it was the last show before they go back to their homes and families after god knows how many dates, makes sense. Still, just wondering if I wasn't the only one somewhat disappointed.
There was something bitter sweet in seeing them in this show verses all the others I've seen over the past 7 years. It reached a point where I, as a spectator and admirer of this band's craft, that I've admired for some time now, that I have found in several ways inspirational, have realized the distance between myself and the artistry that is these two people being creative, has grown and moved on. As all things come and go, I found myself staring at something that has come and gone on to another stage. I found myself wondering, how selfish am I to ask of such things of strangers, hoping the next thing to come from the band or its individual members will be something that will come to light because of the freedoms granted by popular success. In truth, I realize I have enjoyed the ride and look forward to potentially seeing more, but it's obvious that there is room for new blood. And in truth, that is a great thing
I wish to see more from these guys for many years to come, as this was another artist I was able to watch grow, admire, and watched become a public institution. And rightfully so. It was the first modern band that I think I watched become a brand, and now I wonder where is it passing
It's growth, and its amazing to see growth. I just wonder now, where's the next direction?
