Jessica Lea Mayfield - http://www.myspace.com/jlmayfield
Can't say I listen to many 18 year old girl solo artists. But I have because Dan was such a fan and she appeared on Attack and Release, of course.
She's an awesome talent.

I'm in the same boat, can't say I've listen to many young ladies but she is incredible. I heard Dan mention The Strange Boys during an interview a while back. I picked up their album and really dug it. The voice may take some time to grow on you, either way I really liked the album. Posted 3 years ago #

Through TBK or posts by fans on the old forum I have discovered Henry's Funeral Shoe, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Brimstone Howl, Radio Moscow, The Bloody Hollies, Dead Meadow, and probably lots more that I'll think of later. Just remembered, Gil Mantera's Party Dream, which led me to Ghostland Observatory. Hey, this is kinda like Six Degrees of Separation... Posted 3 years ago #

Hmm, good question... Jessica Lea Mayfield, Brimstone Howl, Radio Moscow, Nathaniel Mayer (his last album was really cool) and Drummer (kind of a gimmie). The bands that I can think of that I heard of due to others on the forum are: Blackwater Fever, The Fumes, Patrick Sweany, Two Gallants. All in all, nothing but good things have come to me from listening to TBK and being on the forums. Nothin but love... "We run this shit like a Wendy's. We're open for breakfast every morning." Besides Brimstone Howl, I went to see the Black Diamond Heavies. Great band! Other than that, I really dig Those Darlins and Hacienda who both supported or backed up Dan on the solo tour. Wham bam, thank you m'am. Posted 3 years ago #

Black Keys Pimp offline |
I have to give kudos to my wife for stumbling onto The Keys while browsing the net in search of gear for her then favorite band, The White Stripes. She insisted i check the Keys out, i did, and have been hooked ever since. That being said, The Black Keys have opened up a whole new door in music for me. The first Keys show for us was the Myspace Secret Show at the Beachland Ballroom, where The Black Girls (now The Other Girls) opened for them. Have seen The Girls twice since then, and like what the have to offer. Another group is The Buffalo Killers. Their album,Let it Ride, is solid through and through. It was produced by Dan. They opened two consecutive shows in Cleveland for the Keys, along with The Other Girls, at the Agora. Very solid shows. They bring a sound that is of the styles of Cream, Joe Walsh and a bit of something else yet to be determined. Joey Sebaali's drum work is sick. Good stuff. Jessica Lea Mayfield opened for the Keys in Pittsburgh in June of this year.Wife and i liked the show, bought the CD, and look forward to seeing her again with Dan at the Cleveland HOB in December. Hacienda is the backing band known as the "Fast Five" for Dan on his solo stuff. They play so tightly together with Dan. You may recognize their song "Little Girl" from one of Apple's ipod commercials. And that Dan Auerbach guy's album is pretty good too. Being a rock fan of many, many years i grew so very tired of what radio had, and didn't have, to offer. And i am so very glad as to what Dan and Pat have opened my eyes to. -dusty twitter @dustyreeds Posted 3 years ago #
