The Black Keys will be doing a benefit show in Akron on November 27th at Musica. The venue is a fairly tiny with a maximum occupancy of 350.

View outsider artist Alfred McMoore’s unusual pencil and crayon drawings and see the Black Keys live in a small venue. Alfred McMoore was a longtime friend of the band who often used the term “black key,” the inspiration for their name. He passed away this September but will be remembered here on the 27th. Although he had mental health issues throughout his life, McMoore was able to live independently with the help of Community Support Services. Proceeds from this event will be used to benefit the 2,000 Summit County residents currently being aided by Community Support Services.

Tickets are $50. On sale noon on October 31st.

It look like there are three tiers of tickets. The $50 ticket is general admission and gives a $40 donation to CSS. $100 ticket includes autographed Blakroc CD, an event t-shirt and an $80 donation on your behalf to CSS. $200 includes autographed Blakroc CD, event t-shirt, Meet & Greet +$175 donation on your behalf to Community Support services.

Smoke Signals is doing a small run of posters for the event, probably around 50. We are also going to donate the profits to CSS. We'll be present so I'll try to give you a show review.

We were commissioned by Q-prime (Black Keys/Dan Auerbach management) to do that tour poster. It's an edition of 300, Dan took it out on the road with him. I would assume if there are any left over they will end up in the Black Keys online store. I only have artists proofs and those are staying in the Smoke Signals family for awhile. I noticed they loosely based a t-shirt design off it but it wasn't designed by us.

This is the poster for the benefit. They will be on sale at the show and all profits will go to CSS.
