If they come out with a 2nd Blakroc album, who would you like to see on the album? I've been trying really hard recently to find hip hop that I can enjoy. It's hard to find hip hop bands that have unique beats and lyrics, but great bands I've discovered and good "starter" songs to listen to are:
1. Atmosphere - "Sunshine" or "National Disgrace"
2. The Knux - Bang! Bang!
3. Aesop Rock - No Regrets
4. Brother Ali - Uncle Sam Goddamn
5. The Roots - Seed 2.0
6. De La Soul - Buddy

If you want more suggestions of songs let me know, but Atmosphere I think is my favorite. But, I'd love to see any of these on a Blakroc 2 album. What would you all like to see and do you all have any recommendations for hip hop bands/songs?

If you like Atmosphere, also check out anything by Doomtree, which is a hip-hop collective from her in the Twin Cities (MN), similar to Rhymesayers (Atmosphere, Brother Ali, etc.). Most of the members have solo stuff (P.O.S., Dessa, Sims, Cecil Otter, Mike Mictlan, Paper Tiger, Lazerbeak) and they do stuff as a group also.

Another group to look at is Felt, which is composed of Slug from Atmosphere and another MC named Murs. Heiruspecs is another cool group, hip-hop with a live band.

Any of these folks, plus anyone from the Definitive Jux label would be great on a Blakroc album. Aesop Rock would be good too.

Aesop, Ali and Edan would be great choices. I think Slug and Sage Francis would be a good fit too.

Aesop Rock is like, the antithesis of gangsta, which is sorta the vibe that Blakroc went for... I like his stuff but I don't see it working for Blakroc...

I love Aesop Rock too, but I don't see how those two vibes working out. I can see guys like Common, The Roots, Del, Heiroglyphics, Talib Kweli, etc collaborating. I take back my statement of saying El-P would be cool. He's one of my all-time favorite MC's, but like Aesop Rock...just not sure how those two vibes would work out.

I would also love to hear Cee Lo blasting out some vocals over a thick guitar riff. The guy has a uniquely powerful voice. Maybe Danger Mouse can introduce him to Dan and Pat.

Ohhh, yeah Cee Lo would be an awesome mix. Would be a good combo of soul rock + blues rock

I feel like Pat and Dan would seamlessly fit in with The Roots Crew. If not by creating an unholy awesome of an album or by performing one of the single greatest crossover live sets known to mankind.

The idea of Cee Lo and Dan singing together is the greatest thing I've heard all day. And yeah, I think Aesop is way to abstract for that. I think it would sound weird if they did a collab but I do occasionally enjoy Aesop

Fuck yes. Yes, I say.

I'm still holding tenaciously to my dream of a TBK/GZA collaboration.

You've heard of Danger Mouse right? Danger Mouse and Cee-lo Green are the members of Gnarls Barkley. Rolling Stone listed their single Crazy as the greatest song of the decade. Yeah even Rolling Stone gets it right once in a while.

I think TBK and Atmosphere or just Slug from Atmosphere would be great.

This is a bit off topic, but how do you think a collaboration with Caleb Followill (Kings of Leon) would be with Dan? The contrasting voices could be interested.

Please don't start a debate on KoL, their first 2 albums were amazing and the 3rd was good. And hopefully they'll have a few good songs from the new one, the best song I've found from the new album is:
