So I was listening to Radioheads' Ok Computer today, and it got to thinking: Being that I live in Mississippi, which aint exactly a "melting pot" of different cultures, I dont run into folks from the UK very often, not at all really. So I was just wondering Hokes, Lumberjack, Rollercoaster, Mdevans, and any of you other folks from across the pond. What do yall think of Radiohead? How are they generally received over there? Any of you ever see them live in the On A Friday, or Pablo Honey days? ....
They can do no wrong in my eyes! Ive been a fan since I was like 12 or 13 years old, Im 29 now. I finally got to see them in Atlanta a few years ago, shit was unreal. Totally pulled a Hokes, bodily fluids, everywhere!.. Anyway, I just thought it would be interesting to hear you folks' take on one of your finer imports since those first four guys ya sent our way.

Haha, tbh i've never managed to get into them for some reason, i'm not sure why. At one stage they were at legendary status and they still have totally devoted fans... however their attempts at changing the record industries way of puttin records out has probably made them look a little bit U2 to some people haha. Overall i can't say too much because for whatever reason i've never given them much time. However i know a lot of my friends love them. @Hokes.. Fair enough, sir! May I suggest OK Computer, or The Bends as a starting point? OK is my personal favs, but considering the music of YOURS that I have listened to. Given the acoustic tendencies, maybe started with The Bends, if you're interested!. In Rainbows is also outstanding. Posted 5 months ago #

I feel just like you Hokes... I've tried so many times to get into them, but it just doesn't happen. Sure they are good. But every one seems to love them. And I can't find what's so special. I live in Sweden though, sorry 'bout that "Practice what you preach" Posted 5 months ago #

@peter.. Ha! Yea I thought about the fact that I may have made this thread sounds a bit exclusive. Not my intent at all. Im really just curious to know how they are viewed by other people than folks in my country. Thanks for the input though. I hope others will post as well. As I said in my original post, I donte get much of a chance to interact with folks from other countries. Other than when discussing TBK here. Posted 5 months ago #

I'm with hokes and peter, never really got into them. Some of my mates are into them, but I think that's because of their experimental side, which really doesn't appeal to me. I did have their first few albums on my pc, but they just don't really do much for me, fair enough yeah they've got some ok songs, the bends is an alright album, but they ain't my cuppa tea. I think Thom Yorke is a conductor of music rather than a simple musician. He's experimented with almost every sound possible and his recorss are all different. That being said, I have only ever enjoyed his solo (The Eraser) and OK Computer and Radioheads concepy album Kid A. The rest I can appreciate, but doesn't do anything for me. Hey, my name's Jack. I think Guinness is the most wonderful thing in the world... ...and then the Irish whiskey is poured. *sigh Posted 5 months ago #

Just never really had a chance yall know. The Cavern Club sounds excellent, sir. Maybe get full up on some of that english ale yall got there! Ha! .. Follow up on what Dusty said. You got any vids from the Cavern? @Lumberjack.. Couldnt agree more with that assessment Thom Yorke. The man knows his stuff! Genius-like in my book. Im just as much a fan of Jonny Greenwood. He's incredibly well-versed in all styles of music as well. Posted 5 months ago #

The cavern has two rooms, one is the famous archway which usually has beatles covers bands playing on it and a larger back room / stage which usually hosts the main big band nights. below is footage of us (The Hokes) playing in the back room... although it may not have been the famous arch room of the cavern, sir paul mccartney did grace that same stage with david gilmour The Hokes - Hold Me Down (original)
The Hokes - Baby Please Don't Go (Cover)
This video of PM n DG is a little older so they hadn't put those light things up in the background then.
