When you have a video to post on youtube, say, just paste the url into the post and it will display like below ie. http://www.domain.com/watch?v=qe5xSpF6GL0 [note: i've created the domain obviously for explanation purposes: domain = youtube]
Sweet. Most common video portals are supported (youtube, vimeo etc) - anything with an id number generally - not including myspace videos for this reason

update: april 2011
for those adding videos in future, youtube has a new url convention when you click on share. for example this video url can look like http://youtu.be/Aj4RHU6T6oo
as you can see if you add the video with this url it won't display.
just need to ensure you use a link that reflects the bolded domain http://youtube.com/BlahblaH
