The Crestwood was launched in 1958 by Epiphone. The guitar was a double cutaway solidbody construction in mahogany with dual New Yorker pickups, three-on-a-side headstock and a pickguard with the Epiphone logo. In late 1959 the guitar was renamed the Crestwood Custom and the body's edges were rounded off and the pickguard go different design. In 1961 the New Yorker pickups were replaced with minihumbuckers, the dot markers were replaced with oval markers and the pickguard lost its Epiphone logo. I bought a brand new Crestwood electric a few years ago at a music store in Chesterfield MI. One-A-Chord music store (they also have a website) on Gratiot between 22 and 23 mile road. He carries their whole line. The owner really knows his stuff and swears by these guitars.

I had there technician set the action low and calibrate the neck a few weeks ago and I love it even more. After doing some research in buying new guitars calibration is recommended.

I love my guitar could not beat it for the price. It has a nice feel and good sound. Very well built. I was looking to buy the Fender Sqier and this guitar beat it hands down.

I am finding that there are some really good off brand guitars. People tend to pay more just to buy a popular brand name. The best guitar is the one that feels good to you.

I know the distributor is in Detroit. They have been around for years. I did find this distributor which is in Madison Heights Michigan only sells to dealers. http://www.lpdmusic.com Hope this helps!!!
