Me too!

Haha. I've had two of them now and I keep selling them for some stupid reason. I keep thinking "oh I can build something like this" and since they're worth so much on the used market, I sell it. Then I discover that I can't build anywhere near as well as Jamie can and I miss my Hoof.

You can't go wrong with a Hoof Fuzz. And if you end up not liking it (won't happen anyways so don't worry about it), you can re-sell it instantly for a little less than you paid. Go look on ebay and the such. You won't see many for sale. They don't really get sold. Just bought. And used.

On this most recent tour it appears that he was using the following pedals:

Sovtek Green Russian Muff
Ibanez Standard Fuzz
Shin-Ei FY-6 Fuzz/Wah
Radial Tonebone
Analogman modd'd BOSS TR-2
Sitori Steel Echo
BOSS TU-2
BOSS DD-2 or DD-3

Here's a dumb question:

Off topic, when does a distortion pedal become a fuzz pedal? Madbeans has the Big Muff Pi series of pedals (Ram, Triangle, Russian Green) in the "distortion" section of clones whereas the Soulbender, Colorsound and, of course, Fuzz Face and Fuzz Factory are in the Fuzz category.

On topic, I have a beat to shit Green Russian BM and while I won't argue that they are as well built as a Hoof, I will say that they are by no means fragile. If the pots get scratchy, spray some cleaner in there. They are silly expensive but a pedal doesn't become legendary by accident.

I've seen the two Green Muffs. He probably uses one at a lower setting and kicks the other one on for solo's and lead parts.

I have two fuzz pedals on my board (Way huge swollen pickle and deeptrip hellbender). When I play Thickfreakness, I will switch the hellbender on for the leads and use just the pickle for the rest. With those pedals, I can get any BK sound but it probably has more to do with how I play rather than what pedals, amp or guitar I use.
