Supposedly Patrick has his own signature Ludwig kit coming out. So why not a signature Dan pedal? I'm thinking Earthquaker Devices should be the one to do it since they almost already do (the Hoof Fuzz).

What would it be like? Maybe a Hoof Fuzz with a switchable octave up side to it too? And a built-in slapback feature? We're talking a $300+ pedal here if it's got all that but I bet it would FLY off the shelves.

There are so many players out there buying up "Dan gear" left and right. Jamie and Dan should get together and do some talking and testing and come up with something. They'd make a million bucks.

This would be a good candidate.

Get the Video Plugins

This is the Hoof and Tone Reaper (tonebender clone) w/ upper octave feature.

I'm sure someday soon Dan will have some signature gear and it would be great if Jamie (EQD) could be the guy behind it. In the meantime Jamie was approached by a larger effects company to produce his own signature pedal for them. Strange concept but could bring more attention to EQD.

That's great news! Jamie's a good dude. Glad to see things going well for him.

Pat is getting his own sig kit?!? I thought it was cool that PK got his own sig Vista Lite kit, I wonder if Patrick's going with the multi-colored kit? within the last few months I've been stoked about drum kits and I don't even play drums

Oh and the Hoof Reaper is definitely Dan's dirt tones in a box from thickfreakness to Attack & Release...well the better part of the dirt tones!

Personally, I think of "sig" pedals and automatically think of the Digitech Crossroads or Hendrix wah type pedals or the Dunlop Hendrix series or the Joe Bonamassa Fuzz Face (The case is absolutely cool, though).

It would be cooler if a line of effects and/or amps came about that Dan gave the ultimate thumbs up on and he actually believed and played, not something that had his name slapped on and was a facade hiding his usual sweet gear!

To be perfectly honest, I'm not a fan of signature gear. I wouldn't buy it, but it's quite a compliment if a company is wanting to slap your name on a piece of gear.

In other words, I agree 100% with you Incinerator - it WOULD be way cooler if he was just a "known user" of a certain line of gear or whatever. Rather than have a "Daniel Auerbach signature model".

You're not a fan of signature gear but you are perfectly alright with your copies of great pedals...

I'm personally not a fan of copies of anything.

And is Pat really getting a signature drum kit?!

eh, you say tomato I say tomato!

I don't play the pedals because of what they are. I play them for the sound they make...Plus all the original examples of the pedals have been a) turned into scrap, b) are non-working, c) are non-working and cost thousands of dollars.

there isn't a whole lot of stuff guitar-wise that isn't a rehash of what came before.

well that doesn't make them copies...

and regarding old gear, i disagree. I play them for what they are, where they've been AND how they sound.

This kit is I believe is dubbed "The Salesman". It was thought there was only one left in existence until Dan bought one. From what I hear Ludwig is making a Patrick Carney model. I don't know if this will ever happen or not.

Would be a good idea, but one thing I like about Dan is how he hunts down his own vintage stuff not worrying about brands and big names and what not.

If I saw him playing his own custom signature guitar, with DAN AUERBACH scribbled on the headstock, then stomping on a signature Dan pedal, a little bit of that special something is lost.

But tbh, it would be pretty ahrd to turn down your own signature guitars / pedals / amps if offered
