He said recently in an interview that he didn't use any octave pedals in the studio. It is all overdubs. Not sure on the phaser but the double stop sound makes me think it was some DangerMouse post production.

Makes sense.

Live though, I'm trying to remember what he did for Tighten Up. Obviously overdub and DM post is out the window in a live setting. Come to think of it, he might have just hit the big muff for the octave sound during the guitar breaks.
