It's fascinating to me to see his choices over the years as he doesn't go with "mainstream" guitars which is cool. It seems he's kinda becoming known for this. Makes me wonder if he would ever go with something as common as Fender again? Gibson?

Maybe we should try to guess what the NEXT album's guitar will be so that we can get one before Dan sends the prices up.

Any predictions?

Anyone dumping their Harmony for a Guild?

Maybe he will shock the world and pull out a '59 Burst Les Paul or a Pre-CBS Fender Stratocaster?

Ever since I saw the Guild Thunderbird nearly 10 years ago, I was not a fan...then I was a total Les Paul guy, but flshforward to today and it stll doesn't trip my trigger. I do dig the Hofner and have done so since I saw Jamie Hince of the Kills playing one.

Old cheap guitars aren't for everyone. That being said, I still think Dan should try a Gretsch, the vintage ones are noted for their quirks and flaws, especially the Bladwin-era specimen. The current models are some of the best off-the-shelf guitars out there IMO, then again, everyone is different.

I could see him holding an old Hagstrom Kent or Impala. Gretsch would be cool too but even THAT might be too easy.

@I am Incinerator I agree, I love those Hofners although I like the Hofner Verithin that Allison uses from time to time a bit more. I would love to see Dan use a Silver Falcon.

@Ridgeback I would never trade in my Harmonys for a Guild However, I would looove a Guild Aristocrat or Starfire II. I want to see him play a Dano Dead On Baritone or his '50s Harmony Stratatone.

To date: I've been a fan since early 2002 and I have attended 20 of their concerts and 2 of Dan's solo. I have also met Patrick quite a few times, but never Dan unfortunately. The Black Keys are a part of my soul.

how about one of those old Ekos?

He seemed to get along with a Rickenbacker, which have narrow nutwidth on the necks...maybe Dan would dig a Mosrite Ventures model? The Silvertone 1446? Maybe one of those aluminum necked Travis Bean numbers?

Some of those old Hagstroms are sweet.

Old Hagström Swedes are great great guitars. But it's a "les paul" and I don't see him using one of those.

All the new ones (made in Taiwan i think) are rather bad to so they drag the old ones with them.

LOL at Sir George.

Def could see a Mosrite or Eko. Someone suggested an Ampeg Lucite but I'm not sure I can see him with that. Maybe a different Ampeg.

The Hagstrom Viking is a pretty damn cool guitar too.
