might also be an opp for fans to implement a few of these very basic ways of finding reviews, keeping up to date and getting the odd nugget:

that way you can find and share reviews etc here too

Guardian/Oberver newspaper review: 3/5

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/nov/27/black-keys-el-camino-review

This increased vigour comes at a small price. El Camino may be fast and fun, but it is also somewhat undemanding. It lacks the eclectic savvy of Brothers and other Keys' works, notably 2009's Blakroc collaborations with a host of hip-hop names. Songs such as "Sister" manage to fuse a kind of 70s smugness with an 80s pop-rock sensibility.

You could categorise El Camino – an album named for a car that is not the car on its cover – as a great leap backwards, full of the spirit of the band's early period, but retooled and souped-up with an ear for the bigger spaces. In revving so hard, though, the Black Keys have perhaps left behind in the dust the subtleties that made Brothers such an intriguing ride.

Music to my ears. Don't get me wrong, I don't like to hear people trash their work, but I wouldn't mind if all the "fair weather" fans took a long walk off a short pier...

I REALLY like what I've heard so far. That's all that matters.

I absolutely dying to hear Little Black Submarines!.. The entire album as well, obviously,. But that track in particular seems to be a favorite among the reviews I've read... I would also love to never be reminded again that Blakroc was ever made.

i think i'm gonna agree with the end of that guardian review. i think it will be a fun album, but may feel like a stepping stone to the next one as it isn't diverse or subtle. however all i've heard are clips i'm going to refrain from saying much more until the songs are in my car and playing very very loud!!

Yea, Brothers was great. I doubt this deushbag has any clue as to their earlier recordings. Nothing like a bunch of car/driving references to try and create an interesting read. Nice of him to point out that a dodge caravan is not a an El Camino, never would have noticed that one. He probably pimps a "Nickleback" bumper sticker on his prius anyway.
