I hope to catch them in chicago, milwaukee/madison, and minneapolis if they hit those cities. My first TBK live experience was so incredible I can't wait to see them again. Posted 2 years ago #

I discovered Jay Reatard on the day of his death because of a facebook post from the TBK page. It really is a shame he died, would have loved to see him open for them. No offense but I hope they don't bring Kurt Vile with them, he wasn't very good. Posted 2 years ago #

The Black keys myspace page now has 2 events, both on the same day. Its says they are playing with the Allman Brothers Band at 3pm and their own gig at 8pm? If that is anywhere near true.... Posted 2 years ago #

My folks live in Florida (I'm in Chicago) so I was thinking of going to this festival but not a whole lot I'm into (other than the Black Keys). Widespread Panic??? No thanks. I wouldn't mind hearing North Mississippi and I dig the Allmans for sure, and of course TBK but I think I'll just go to Rothbury instead. Closer to home. Hope the Keys are invited! Johnny Winter, P-Funk, Funky Meters, Wailers are also good but not worth going down to Florida for. If I lived nearby I'd be there though. Posted 2 years ago #

I'm thinking about making the trip down from Boston because I haven't gone anywhere in ages. Love P-funk, Allmans, Meters, Dr John, Sharon Jones, but the chance of hearing that new TBK shit live...mmmmmm. Posted 2 years ago #

Hmm. The Black Keys / Allman Brothers thing has me wondering. Here's one possibility for the double booking on the same day: I imagine, like most festivals , there will be multiple stages. Though in most venues The Keys play they are the headliner, there is the possibility they are an opening act for the Allman Brothers on the main stage. Then later at 8 o'clock they are the featured act on the 2nd stage. I can't see any other scenario. I have never heard of any link between the two bands, any common entity such as a shared label. It would be cool, however, to see them play together (seeing Dan and Greg sharing vocals on Whipping Post would be something!). However, i just don't see this happening. As for Widespread Panic, well,i saw them play last year's Forecastle Festival in Louisville, and that was enough for me. Their show was one long jam session, like 60 minutes of Freebird. I didn't care for it, but their following of fans was huge. I would like to see Johnny Winter and Stephen Stills though. We'll see what plays out.Wife and I may be making a trip to Florida for the first time in 16 years. Have love, will travel (if we have the cash). Posted 2 years ago #

According to TBK Facebook, May 20th they will be on the bill with Pearl Jam,but no mention of where. Myspace and TBK site have no mention of this. Neither does Pearl Jam's site. That will be a great show! Posted 2 years ago #

I can't stand Eddie V. Pearl Jam would be great if he didn't sing or talk at all. TBK at The Garden is pretty rad though. Posted 2 years ago #

That's gotta be the biggest booking for TBK to date. "Since huge quantities of information can be computer-digitalized and transmitted, music researchers could, for example, swap records over the Net with "essentially perfect fidelity." - Rolling Stone, December 7, 1972 Posted 2 years ago #

I have to agree with Dusty, it would seem to make more sense for TBK to open for the Allmans rather than playing with them. It would be cool to see Dan trade some slide licks with Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks. His style is different, but it could be a cool jam. Can't wait til the guys come through Minneapolis. I've seen them 3 times and each show is better than the last! I'm glad their putting out the Howlin for You single for Record Store Day, 'cause I'm not sure I can wait until May to hear some new tunes... "We run this shit like a Wendy's. We're open for breakfast every morning." Posted 2 years ago #

I am not a fan of Pearl Jam, however i know Dan and Pat will bring their A-game and put on a phenomenal show in front of such a large crowd.@YouEvil- TBK myspace has since adjusted the Wanee performance to one show at 4pm. Still curious as to what may have been the original plans. Posted 2 years ago #
