Come introduce yourself here. It's quick, easy, fun, will help us get to know you, and it will help you not get snapped at by the cranky oldsters (who mostly have hearts of gold) here.

And for the record, I love cranky oldsters. (Having come up while Usenet was still a factor, I can't help feeling the n00bs have it easy these days.)

okay, here goes. i am brand new to registering with the forum, but have read every word you all have written on here for longer than i want to admit. And you all seem very nice, kind and respectful of one another ( except for one person!), not old cranksters at all! and im pretty sure ive got most of you beat on the old part too! my life was forever changed by the keys when an indie music store clerk randomly insisted i HAD to check out rubber factory. been to seventeen shows since then and am so so proud of the boys. proud of how they have handled all this, proud of their music, proud of how they interact with us long time fans. and really proud of them finally reaping the fruits of their labor, and freaking deserving it! so there it is, ive always been here, but cant contain my excitement anymore! thanx for all your posts! lala tyson

do the trunk, no way you are "that person"! there is just a certain someone who has on occasion come off as rude and overly antagonistic to some of the other posters for no reason. just really rubbed me the wrong way. like April said in the thread about the colbert report by starting her response with "no offense" to an opinion she didnt completely agree with, the right way to converse and/or disagree with someone. that is alot of the reason i even said that about "this one person", b/c besides that, i am always delighted at everyone's playful back and forth banter. i thought the colbert spot was funny b/c it was purposefully very "scripted". the whole sell out issue went along with the tongue in cheek dialogue perfectly in my opinion! however, i love getting on here to see all u other fan's opinions and thoughts. especially now that our little band has blown up and we will all be absorbing the rest of the worlds opinions on the keys.

I've been a member since last April around the release of Brothers. Good ol' Iowa boy that started listening to the Keys when I was 16 back in '03 when Thickfreakness was just coming out. My sister-in-law's brother and I were headed to the movies to see Matrix Reloaded. He played them on the way there, and I fell in love. I sat through a couple hours of shit and finally ran home to start listening to the Keys!
I've seen them twice ('06 and '10) and Dan Auerbach and the Fast Five once in '09. I love all their albums and love where they're headed. If only other artists/musicians could stay the true course like Dan and Patrick; evolving but not selling out (*cough*, KOL).
Anyways, I've got all their studio albums on vinyl and want to continue to search for rare EPs, singles and limited edition copies (as I do with all the music I appreciate.)
Highly looking forward to future albums and concerts. Hopefully they'll come out with a live album one of these days.
Peace to Black Keys Fans, both vets and rooks alike.

@lala I get the bully vibe from a member also. But I choose to ignore it. There are too many good people on here to talk to.
Hopefully I'm not the one you are talking about, if so, screw you!!!!!! just kidding;)
The Colbert show was hilarious, I'm still laughing at the Cape Cod joke.
QuentinMarquez-Welcome! Is it weird that I read your post with a slight country accent? You seem like a good ol' boy. Maybe it's the picture of corn on the cob that gives me that vibe.
Make sure your sneaker laces, they get tied.

Hahaha, no way! Iowans are the most standard speaking English folks around! I have no accent whatsoever. But that's hilarious.

Respect is earned. It's also given, but mostly earned. You don't have to like me, and I don't have to like you. That doesn't mean we can't share opinions and ideas. We don't have to fucking agree on everything. As long as we keep it semi-civil, I don't see the problem. Keep it real, real interesting - no boring bullshit. I don't get on here to read about Dan's shoes or what you think his facial hair should fucking be like. I'm far from perfect - call me out on my shit and I'll call you on yours. That's how we improve ourselves.
And yeah, there are times when I'm hard on people here, so what? I can recall some jagoff newcomer and his very first post was all "oooh I have this piece of Black Keys memorabilia, how much do you guys think it's worth?!" and yeah I ripped that fucker to shreds. He deserved it. Some of us are still trying to preserve the integrity of the fan base. Some of us are not.

Well, what makes you think he's talking about you, anyway? Didja get a nasty PM, or something?
