The band just posted this on facebook:
Brothers got Grammy nominations for
Best alternative album, best rock song, best rock performance by a group or duo, best instrumental. Michael Carney was also nominated for best art direction for brothers.

Apparently the nominations were announced tonight on a live network tv performance special! ...I had no idea, really in the dark on that one.

Okay, really, good for them, but fuck the Grammys... total industry wankfest. I feel like Dan & Pat absolutely don't need this to validate anything they've done. Unless they want to enter the hallowed halls of Rascall Flatts or some shit.

You sure it wasn't The Black Eyed Peas??? I believe they are to play the Superbowl halftime show this year, so maybe that means TBK will play instead?? It'd be good for the boys to get a grammy, doesn't hurt when they're negotiating the next contract.

While I am generally of the "fuck the Grammys" ilk (a prestigious popularity contest is still a popularity contest), I agree with dusty: it's good advertising and another ace in the hole for the guys. And I think it's awesome that Michael got a nomination.
Plus, it could mean the chance to see the guys in fancy duds (and tell me you aren't curious about what their acceptance speech(es) would be).

I really have no respect for the Grammy's but the glad the boys got 4 noms and Pat's bro got 1..., they should have had more though.
The Twilight album was also nom'ed for best movie soundtrack and they had a track on there, so that is cool too.

"Thanks."
"Yeah, thank you."

Which is kind of what I'm hoping for, actually.

If anyone has a guess closer than Mike's, I'll be impressed.

I think I remember a sarcastic interview where Dan and Pat were talking about a potential acceptance speech. They thank Slipknot for being such a heavy influence on them. Maybe I dreamed it because I can't find it anywhere, ha

@Danleary, that sounds familiar. Don't know where it's from though. Was it Slipknot or ICP? Come to think of it, it may have been the Pitchfork interview where they're sitting on the bed in the hotel...

i think mike hit it on the button, the only other answer would be..."after this, we're going to Chick-Fil-A if anybody wants to tag along"
