It has been a couple days, but I haven't seen any post on the new music video for "Savage" from Hacienda (with lots of Dan cameos). Just wanted to share.

Thanks for the share. Solid song. I'm not always a fan of their recorded material (nothing against Dan) but they do put on a great live show. I got to see these guys play at Dan and Stephanie's wedding party doing a complete set of covers they requested.

@smokesignals I tend to agree. Their recorded songs have seemed a bit heavy on effects at times, and I prefer the character of their live songs. I have a multi-track recording of a show in San Antonio from last year, that I hope can be released at some point, that has great sounds out of a really stripped down setup.

That said, I think "Savage" has a really good sound and feel to the recorded song. I'm looking forward to their album release.

There was a mention about it in the off topic section. I'm trying to remain optimistic and open minded but I hope their music doesn't go the way of TBK. I dig the raw vintage rock n roll vibe that they exude live. The new stuff is fun but obviously very different from what they've done in the past. At the risk of sounding like a douchey change-fearing jerk, I just want to say I hope they don't get all pretty and Maroon5y on us. I highly doubt they will. But that's the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard the new single back when it came out on iTunes. I thought I downloaded the wrong song at first (Savage). I thought it was a different band at first, but as the track played on I realized it wasn't. From that single, I prefer the other song, "Good Thing" or whatever it's called. It's more Hacienda sounding.

@SmokeSignals - yet again I wish I had your life haha. that wedding party sounds insanely awesome.

It is a slippery slope for guys as talented as them. But at the same time I don't blame anyone for writing a good song that can appeal to the masses that isn't Maroon 5. I'll have to check out that other song.

I wish my life was that interesting other than being lucky enough to be around Ohio/Akron before these guys broke big.

Yeah check it out. It was recorded at a different studio though. It's from some South Texas sessions or something. Not that it matters, just wanted to mention.

Also, at haciendaonline.net you can watch a neat clip of Hacienda and Dan making the album in Dan's studio. It sounds very raw and very rockin and very much like the Hacienda that we all know and love. So I'm thinking Savage is a fun song but probably not indicative of what the entire album will sound like.

No matter what the album is or isn't, I'm really excited to see them open for Heartless Bastards in Chicago on Vday. The venue they're playing has excellent sound (Lincoln Hall). Last time I saw them there it was Dante's birthday. They opened for Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears. I don't know much about Black Joe but the show was sold out and I had to hang out front until I found a hot MILF with an extra ticket for sale. It was a great show - Hacienda did a raging cover of Sam the Sham's "Wooly Bully" that just about tore the roof off that mutha. Crowd went apeshit.

The actual last time I saw them was at the Double Door where they opened for the Greenhornes. I like the Greenhornes a lot but Hacienda totally stole the show. I pity the fool who has to go on after Hacienda...

Two more good studio vids from the new album. "Veronica" and "Natural Life." I think it's about time these guys headline a small tour at least

I went to the Cleveland show for that Greenhornes tour. Hacienda was the highlight that evening as well. Craig looked worn out or even bored with his own music but I heard from a source he was going through some substance abuse problems but I don't know how true it was or not. I was hoping for another Cleveland date but looks like Columbus or Pittsburgh is the closest they're coming to Akron. Maybe I can hook something up last minute for the 15th?

The last time I saw Hacienda... can't remember the date, I think Nov. 5th(it was their last show in S.F., opening for City yawn and Colour) They put on put on a great show, as usual. It was weird that they played maybe 7 new songs, and a few tracks off of "Loud is the Night", but NOTHING off "Big Red". The new songs all had a more indie rock, disco beat to them. Good for dancing, but not for truly rockin' out. But it was still a great show, even though the crowd only opened their ears for City and Colour.

I think Danger Mouse has hugely affected Dan's production and songwriting, and it'll probably show on Hacienda's new album.

"i wonder if they’ll release that last verse. i bet he hit the floor on the downbeat, too. RIP"
