I've never seen a photo of Dan playing an acoustic guitar either live, in the studio or anywhere.

Come to think of it, I can't think of a Black Keys song played on an acoustic by Dan

Even with his solo album I don't recall the use of an acoustic by Dan, although the Fast Five band memebers were playing acoustic guitars

Of course Dan plays acoustic guitar. As mentioned, Trouble Weighs A Ton has acoustic, and I'm pretty sure When the Night Comes does too. Actually I bet Whispered Words has acoustic on it too. Probably Goin' Home too.

You just don't see him play acoustic live very often because it's way more rock'n'roll to let loose on an electric.

That would be a cool idea though - a Dan acoustic show. He could do some of his solo songs and some covers. It would probably work best in a small club/bar. I'd pay to see that. Pat could even join in with some percussion.

I'm more than certain that back in March when i saw Dan at the Beachland Ballroom,in Cleveland, that he played an acoustic guitar on "Trouble weighs a ton" to open his set. Unfortunately the pics i have of him singing that song are only head shots, so i cannot confirm. But he did plug in for that song when i saw him in Detroit recently.
