YES! I was wondering if this was ever going to happen! I wish i had known about it earlier so I could actually go. ACL is the greatest concert experience. It is Free (if you can get it) and you get two free beer before the first band, and two more before the second. Posted 2 years ago #

so excuse my naivety, but at ACL, the taping of the show was in a studio? check out http://www.prechosenforms.com/2010/10/review-black-keys-acl-taping.html - really good review and photos here so they did a show at the festival, at stubb's and then one in a studio that was recorded and will be aired on 22 january, 2011? looks like it. cool image stolen from above post:

Brucini, the original AUSTIN CITY LIMITS is a TV show that has been playing on Public Broadcast for over 30 years. It is an institution in music concert footage. Go to pbs.org sometime and check it out. They have lots of previous concerts and clips. When people were trying to organize a music festival in Austin, it seemed fitting to apply the AUSTIN CITY LIMITS brand to it. It is a pretty big deal to get asked to play the studio show. A lot of musician view it as a big honor, having grown up watching their favorites on ACL. Posted 2 years ago #

I watched the promo video for it on the PBS website and Sonic Youth was also in the video. Is it a split episode or two separate ones? I sure hope they are separate so we can get a full hour of each band. The Them Crooked Vultures episode was really good so I'm hyped for this. Posted 2 years ago #

It's a split episode, which most of the ACLs have been for the past few years. I think you have to be epically legendary (or, if Them Crooked Vultures got a full episode, have an epically legendary member) to get a full one. Posted 2 years ago #

Thanks for the head's up! Can't wait. Regarding the fact that it's shot in a studio, yeah it took me a long time before I figured that out because it does appear as though it was shot outside with Austin's skyline in the background. ACL is awesome for live music and is one of the great things about PBS. Snackshop Billy..... Forty Fries..... Posted 2 years ago #

http://video.pbs.org/video/1742060032/ really cool! Set list's are becoming too predicable though! The completely unplayed half of Brothers would have fit nicely into this program. Posted 2 years ago #
