Amazing to finally be a member on a BK only forum...and yes I am friends with Patrick on facebook....but I do not personally know him :-p

To date: I've been a fan since early 2002 and I have attended 20 of their concerts and 2 of Dan's solo. I have also met Patrick quite a few times, but never Dan unfortunately. The Black Keys are a part of my soul.

I talked to Patrick back in 2004 for about 45 seconds. I guess that makes us best buds by this standard.

Thanks for the welcome! I've been a long time Keys fan since 2002...but Radiohead is a band that surpasses them as I've been a fan since 1997. The Black Keys are def' a favorite... I guess it's safe to say I'm obsessed with them? Maybe not since I've seen some more epic fans on this forum lol.

But yes my good friend (from school) has a lot of connections with Pat, his Aunt and Uncle are friends with his parents and play golf sometimes in Arkon, Ohio, and this friend has also met Pat on many occasions so yea their friends on facebook and he linked me...I must say I almost had a triple-heart attack when he accepted. I found out his email and sent him some fan mail and he responded that he was so thankful, and that it meant so much...he also said that he was eating fried pickles and in the bottom it said "Sent from my Garfield phone".

Oh well I am honored to have even contacted the great man...as for Dan he's no where to be found on the net....but at Lollapalooza in 2010 I was front row and yelled 'I LOVE YOU' at the top of my voice and he waved and he said back "We love you guys too". Best concert ever....

I have their complete works along with Blakroc and I just completed finding all their rarities and B-sides and adding them to my collection. I have it all on FLAC which is the highest quality in digital...but takes up a lot of space...especially on an ipod....sounds fantastic if you have epic speakers and a really good sound card though...

I am currently looking on getting high qualities of their radio sessions and maybe a whole track of their Coachella perfomance...I found the article on here with their 2007-2008 MP3 Radio perfomances but I can't download them (help?) as we all know the BK's live are a completely different experience.

I am also looking to meet them and get them to sign my arms so I can go get it tattooed and then a guitar pic Dan has used (ugh he throws so many of those out and of the seven concerts of theirs I've been to I couldn't get one).

Oh well, thanks for welcoming me to the forum

I'm a huge fan of Radiohead as well. Although I listen to more TBK, currently. I got into Radiohead in the mid nineties, myself...

Love Radiohead. Could two bands be more different? Or are they?

Oh indeed, I am a firm believer that the 90's Radiohead era was among their best. THE BENDS...it was like heaven to my ears and still is....OK Computer and some Pablo Honey...that was the best era. They still had me hooked all along after that era and then In Rainbows blasted me away with awe...however King of Limbs sort of let me down.... I find it to be their worse album (no offense). I am also a lover of The Strokes and have met Albert Hammond Jr. in 2004.

Also if you care, Thom "looks up to" The Black Keys... if Thom likes your music that much then you're practically set in gold.
