Reminds me of Tighten Up. Sick intro, I think the guitar on the chorus is kinda boring though. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed, but I still like it. And yeah, that is a great tone.

I wonder how he's gonna get that super low note effect in the live version.

I'm not too excited about it thus far, but I have no doubt there will be some killers on the album. This is not soulful, it's not very rock n' roll either. The guitar/keys mix is very "Brothers". Curious to see the live set up for this next tour, after hearing this I assume we'll see a four-piece again.
Oh, and he'll probably just use a whammy bar on his guitar to get the low note he's hitting.

Love the tone. Sounds like JLM is singing backing vocals again. Not blown away, but i imagine it'll grow on me like Tighten up did.

I can hear Dangermouse on this track. This is sort of reminiscent of Gnarls Barkley's - Gone Daddy Gone. I think it's catchy but I don't know how this will hold up. I do think their sound has become more accessible and I guess we'll see how the album compliments this.

I'm a little dissapointed to be honest. To me it's just an uptempo poptune. Sure the guitartone is sweet but that's about the only thing in this song I like thus far. To mainstream pop for my taste. I hope the rest of the album will have more depth and soul or blues in it but I doubt it.

I think we're gonna hear a more TBCU meets attack and release on this album

Eh, with a bigsby though? Those aren't made for divebombs. Tone-wise it'll have to be done with an effect in my opinion

Yeah...that's an effect for sure. No whammy there.

I get the vibe that this song was intentionally crafted to be radio friendly. I think the boys are trying to dent the music industry, possibly to change it for the better by exposing people to real music, but to do that you gotta get popular and unfortunately that means dumbing down tunes. I hope this is only one of a couple "hit pop songs" on this new album, kind of like Tighten Up and Howlin for You was for Bothers.

I'm hoping for the same Dan. BTW, don't know if it has been mentioned but Lonely Boy appears to be a cover of a Paul Anka song:
