My son Kurtis is a big fan of TBK well he would be he has grown up on it. His first gig will be TBK I have him a ticket for the newcastle show. For his 12th birthday in august he wants this guitar

He has asked if we can go to the venue during the day to see if Dan & Pat come out to meet fans so he can get the guitar signed. Have any of you did this or know if the boys do this sort of thing? Here is a little vid of him playing some TBK riffs

Kid's good. Now get him listening to who Dan listened to, and you'll really have something. Posted 1 year ago #

I've never heard of Dan/Pat snubbing or turning anyone away who asked for an autograph. Everyone I've heard from that's bumped into them said they were very nice. The trick would be bumping into them. Especially over in Europe, I bet they are very pressed for time trying to get from gig to gig on time and all that. I don't think they regularly come out before shows to do meet n greet sessions, but if you hang around long enough and put in the time, you just might see them. When I saw Pat, he was in front of the venue here in Chicago (The Metro) standing outside the tour bus, maybe smoking a cig (I don't remember). Anyhow, I was too nervous to go say hi and bother him but I bet he would have been real cool about it if I did. I worked in the music business (sorta) at a venue and what I learned about dealing with stars is this - don't be put off if they are too busy to hang out for an hour and chat with you, try to be respectful and they usually go out of their way to let you know how much they appreciate you - but understand that sometimes circumstances don't permit such things, and sometimes let's be honest, everyone gets into a bad mood or has a bad day and doesn't feel like talking. I would bet it's especially tough to be on the road for so long and maintain your cool/patience. In short, I say go for it! But don't be disappointed if things don't work out. Just let your little guy know that you'll give it a shot and see what happens (that way he won't feel let down). Sorry, I don't mean to give you parenting advice, I don't have children and know jack shit about raising them (although I used to be a kid once). PS- your kid's got some skills! I say take him early and you'll have better chances of catching them before they're locked into playing. However, since you ask how good are they to fans... I say real good. Think of the sound and energy they give you with each live performance. That's a gift in itself. Your boy's lucky you take him to the show...beats the hell out of going to The zoo Posted 1 year ago #

Its fun till you notice that all you guitar gear has gone. I'm sure he must eat picks because no one can lose that many. I had to go in his room for my copy of it might get loud and found 1 x les paul, 1 x gretch, 1 x big muff, 1 x amp and 2 x tuners I cant wait till he gets his own stuff. Posted 1 year ago #

Yeah guys, sorry to be the buzzkill here, but that shit is OFF LIMITS. Do not make jokes like that about the man's son. That's one line that should not be crossed. I mean, if we were face to face and you made a joke like that, you'd get beaten so badly your own mother wouldn't recognize you. People don't take kindly to that kind of talk when it involves their children. Grow up. I don't advocate censorship, but I do advocate using good judgement. Just drop it. Immediately. WAY wrong thing to joke about. No big deal, no need to say anything, let's just drop it. Posted 1 year ago #
