Strange Times

Hey there folks, new guy here. I've been listening to the Keys for a little over two years now. I first heard them during a day spent browsing through some songs on YouTube. I stumbled onto a video called "The Black Keys - Your Touch". I immediately liked what I was hearing, and when the song was over I decided to listen to another. Before I knew it, I'd listened to more than a dozen songs and knew I'd found something special. I spent much of the next several weeks listening to each of their albums in chronological order, and have been hooked ever since.

Anyway, a bit of info about myself; I'm in my mid-twenties and live in that strange foreign land north of the US known as Canada. Specifically in southern Ontario, about an hour's drive away from Toronto. I enjoy a variety of rock music from every decade of its history, and thanks to Dan and Pat I've gained an appreciation for the blues as well. I play the guitar (badly), accordion (somewhat decently), piano (competently) and harmonica (fairly well, I'd say). When I'm not working, listening to/playing music, sleeping, eating or performing other essential tasks, I generally spend a lot of time reading, almost entirely non-fiction since I love to learn about new things.

I've been lurking here for a couple days now and decided it was time to join in. So here I am. I look forward to discussing our favorite band.

Welcome, and yes chronological order imo is the best way to listen to their albums.

To date: I've been a fan since early 2002 and I have attended 20 of their concerts and 2 of Dan's solo. I have also met Patrick quite a few times, but never Dan unfortunately. The Black Keys are a part of my soul.

Yeah, that's usually the way I do it with most bands the first go around. Except for ones that are particularly known for just one or two albums.
