I know he's into vintage, but just for fun if he was to walk into a store without vintage gear to buy a tele what would he get?

Right now, he could get himself a Fender 60th Anniversary Special. But would he spend the big bucks on the American version or buy the cheaper, but still very nice Mexican one? We all know TBK made good money last year, but since Dan knows the value of a good cheap guitar ( as well as the value of a dollar), I think he could go either way. As for me, I've opted for the Mexican version ( 1 payment left to go- woo hoo). Posted 11 months ago #

This, with a bigsby I am looking at this one, very similar to my Squier Tele Custom II. Posted 11 months ago #

that last one would be nice but to me those sort of creations I feel like you should buy a gibson? Posted 11 months ago #

As for me, I picked up a squier affinity series (butterscotch blonde) and it sure does what I need it to. Though about slapping a bigsby, but figured it would take the look away too much. The color is smoooth Posted 11 months ago #

Nice user name...I used to have Thom as my avatar... To date: I've been a fan since early 2002 and I have attended 20 of their concerts and 2 of Dan's solo. I have also met Patrick quite a few times, but never Dan unfortunately. The Black Keys are a part of my soul. Posted 11 months ago #

I saw, hands down, the most awesome Tele I've ever seen the other night. Ben Gibbard of Deathcab For Cutie was playing during their performance on Conan. I wish I could post a pic. Shouldn't be that hard to find though. It was sunburst, but the Burst was dark. Kind of like a really dark gold, or something. With a black pick guard, and knobs. I believe it was a Thinline, as well. "We're gona get Tom Waits, Tom Jones, and Thom Yorke to do a duets record"- Pat Posted 11 months ago #

After playing a bunch of telecasters this weekend, ive decided dan wouldnt buy a tele. They are too weak... that's why he put in the rail pups. Back to wanting either a Jazzmaster or G&L ASAT Special Posted 11 months ago #

Telecasters are weak? Do some research before you make a generalization like that "radiohead625". You know that Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead plays a telecaster that he's used since pablo honey right? I would beg to differ in saying his telecaster is weak. And yeah you can say it's the pickups but did Jimmy Page's telecaster sound weak? No, it did not, neither did jimi hendrix's or George Harrison's. Telecasters are far from weak and as a telecaster owner I am highly offended. You play bass? Whats up? Posted 11 months ago #

O.K. Mr. overreaction! Do you need a tissue?... I was just saying a normal tele pickup does not have the power to push the amp like dan likes to push them. That is why he put the t-rails in. Posted 11 months ago #
