I just found her new album on Rolling Stones website streaming. you can really hear dan's work in this. it also sounds like he has backing vocals on a couple songs.

Yeah, and he finally got to use those Chimes that he mentioned in an old interview.

Can't wait to pick this album up tomorrow! Been listening to the stream like you guys and REALLY REALLY digging it. Better sound on this album, more upbeat too. I liked the last album a lot but I hardly ever listen to it because it bums me out so much. So sad. Beautifully sad, but still sad. Some Neil Young is like that for me. I dig it but can't listen to it without getting depressed. Powerful tunes.

this is going to sound harsh but by the end of the album i was a little bored. there are some brilliant tunes in there and i'm loving some of the guitar work and vibe thats being put across. once i have the album i may change my mind, that is just my initial feeling, but as we know these things change

Nice find carp, thanks. Boy does that opening riff scream Red Dead Redemption or what?

this is probably gonna draw a lot of heat, but i don't usually like female singers. there are many that i DO like, but the majority of them out there just don't do it for me. i'm very picky about vocals and most women just sound like they're kidding.

Heartless Bastards = example of some amazing female vocals
Jessica Lea Mayfield = ditto, enchanting stuff
Aguaturbia = yup.

I dig a lot of female soul singers, that's where they really shine, imo. but yes i'm a jerk and don't dig most female singers. so i don't blame you if you got bored. it's not for everyone. but i think it's a very well made album and i'll be buying a copy tomorrow morning first thing at my local shop. any time Dan has his hands in the making of an album, it's worth the price of admission.

I'm definitely biased though. I've had a huge crush on JLM since I saw her at Schuba's in Chicago on her Blasphemy tour a while back. She's amazing live. You don't chew, you don't breathe, for fear you might miss something. She holds the audience in the palm of her hand the entire show - locked in a trance.

I love what she says about her new album......"It's me kinda being a dick." Classic. Actually a pretty sweet little album, you can really her Dan's influence on the record....love some of his background vocals. Dan is the man.

The depressing sound of With Blasphemy doesn't bother me much. Sometimes I'm in the mood for something dark and moody.

This new song kind of reminds me of Beck meets Portishead. I'm not saying it's a rip off of any kind, her voice still stands out and is one of a kind. One more day! I honestly can't wait.

Maybe you should start one of those creepy celeb worship pages? You know the type - with nothing but pictures.
There's more than enough room for all types of fans here, but please let me know if I'm in the wrong place. I always thought this was more of a forum for fans of their music. At least that's why I've hung around so long. I come here mostly hoping for news about upcoming music. I don't come here for nude, oops I mean "new" pictures of the band or news about their facial hair status or hats/boots/undergarments/etc.

Two words Fugs... YOU - BITCH.

Only joking. I totally deserved that. Thank you for having the cahones to call me out on my shit.

In other news, how awkward must it have been for JLM and Dan to record "Grown Man" ...
