Greetings from Norway! I'm new here, just registered last night.
Anyway, I've been a die hard fan of The Black Keys ever since I first heard them in the intro of the TV show Hung (I'll Be Your Man). And I actually remember the date I first heard them: July 27, 2009.
I immediately started checking out who these guys were and listening to their albums, and for the very first time in my life I had found my band, my music genre, my style.

It seemed like every song of theirs was made specifically for my ears, and each and every note in every song was perfectly placed, with the raw spirit of old school rock. I hardly listened to any other bands for about 18 months. No, really, I'm not kidding. 18 months with nothing but the Black Keys.

I have a dream of becoming a film maker, and in the songs of the Black Keys I have found a great source of inspiration for movie ideas that involve their music as a soundtrack, and I hope I can realize these ideas in a not so distant future.

I haven't heard them live yet, mostly because they haven't been to Norway yet, which kinda sucks, but I think I'll go to "the Continent" when their next European tour comes around.

Yeah, so anyway, that's me. Hi folks!

Your experience paralells mine pretty well. I know exactly how you feel. After I listened to them I was like "This is it, music will never get better than this".

Greetings stian. I feel, and felt the same way about their music. Hopefully for you they'll get back to Europe and close enough for you to see live.

I like this guy.

Although, to this dumb American, your name looks like the first half is missing.

Feels good, doesn't it? Makes it worth all the time spent sifting through crap music. Welcome dude.

I hope you don't mind if I borrow your thread a bit and introduce myself as well. I think everyone here shares the same passion for one thing: the Black Keys. Just like you said; its was love at first listen. Too bad for us Scandinavians (I'm from Stockholm) we live such a long way from where all this amazing music is born and it's roots. I must tell, I saw them in Birmingham this fall, AMAZING.

The blues definitely deserves more attention than it gets nowadays. People should get a break from all the electro & house music that every other speaker blasts. I haven't heard any other music genre that speaks so directly to the heart and soul and is so rich and full of emotions, I wish everyone could hear it! It's like every song has it's own tale.

Well, I can't really say welcome to the boards (since you're older than me here), but I'm glad to see we are a few from the north and letting the vibrations of the Black Keys pass our bodies and allow our minds to drift away.

Good luck with your dreams! I'm sure we will see a video from you here soon enough!
