If you have anything nice to say about the band, please post here. Let Dan and Pat know why we think they and their band are great.

Dan: Your guitar playing and tones inspired me to pick up my guitar after years of little use and get back into making, playing, and recording music.

Pat: Your drumming and intensity make me jump up and down at your concerts.

I never really put my guitar "down" ever since I began. But I also never really took it seriously, or actually tried to do anything other than play bar chords/rythm-guitar type stuff. TBK/Dan have totally changed that. The guitar and all of its intricacies.., new (to me) ways to play songs/chords/fills-actually trying to learn how to improvise, are all things I never really strived to learn before. I used to just be cool with getting a tab book, learning the rythm, then I would be done... Very complacent. TBK (aaaaaand I gota give some credit to Junior Kimbrough as well) have totally changed that. The guitar is very much an obsession now.

Fuck that noise. I have a serious gripe with Dan and Pat. Every time I listen to these guys I have to change my pants. So fuck them.

But you know, when the ammegedon comes, and thy pile up the bodies...I will be in the cool pile and many of you will be in the "suck" pile. That's it.

I like and appreciate the idea of this thread but, if I may say so, the majority of us post positive things about TBK and Dan and Pat as individuals. If one looks around the forum, reads the posts, and ignores the obviously idiotic and meant-soley-to -incite posts made by people who are not regular participants here, it is easy to see that this is a fan lounge. It is discouraging though to keep hearing (via varied and plentiful sources) just how much Dan and Pat dislike us and think that we hate them.

X2 to what Capricious said. We speak our mind here and we are fans so 90% is positive. I don't think they'd want us to be TOTAL ass kissers.

Your description of your pre-TBK guitar playing sounds a lot like my current playing, Mr.ssippi. Just some chords, rhythm, a bit of melody here and there. I usually just strum along to tunes I play on my harmonica. My main problem is I've taken up four new instruments within the last eight months or so (guitar, accordion, ukulele, mandolin), so I get divided all over the place in terms of play time on each. Most of my attention gets focused on the accordion, since as someone who has played piano for most of my life, I find it incredibly fun to play. I'll have to work on some TBK covers on it, heh.

Sounds like you're a well rounded/talented fella, Strangetimes! I would love to hear a cover of Too Afraid To Love You, or The Only One with some of those insruments you just named off!

I didn't say I was actually good at any of the aforementioned instruments, but I try my best

And misa, these things happen, but to bring it back to Dan and Pat (especially Pat since he might actually read this), you guys are one of the best bands currently in operation today, and even though some of us might not be totally enthusiastic about the new album, don't let it discourage you. It's your band and you should do whatever you enjoy doing.

Has anyone ever seen the mighty boosh? And the funky ball of tits?!

Well basically this ball of tits excreted the funk which made the 70's so frunky... basically what i'm gettin at is, i want to milk dan n pats tits and hopefully make the world a better musical place. I may even be tempted to lick up some of their nipples excretion, just to make myself that little bit better.

I like their style, i like the fact they bullshitted their way through, sounds a bit like me except i haven't really got the full on drive maybe their juice will be my petrol?! who knows until we've milked them!!
