Some time we should all post our rarities/TBK goodies; compare dick/breast sizes and see who has what cool shit...

Nice idea. Could be fun. I've got a couple things, but nothing real crazy rare.

1. Autographed 7" Strange Times record given to me by Mr Auerbach himself (contest winner, signed by both Patrick and Dan) http://theblackkeysfanlounge.com/forum/topic/the-everyday-wranglermel-gibson-contest/page/7
2. Record Store Day 7" sea green colored vinyl, Black Keys covering Cpt Beefheart "Her Eyes Are a Blue Million Miles" (B-side flaming lips doing Maddona's "Borderline")
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BtKj-wEsMc8/Se3NSKU7VPI/AAAAAAAAAgk/nsEvTciTlto/s320/FlamingLips_Borderline_7_1.jpg
3. Limited promotional DVD from Rubber Factory era, Live at Emo's in Austin, TX (Oct 24th, 2003). 6 songs. This was a free gift when you bought Rubber Factory, but only given to certain indy record stores, very limited.
http://theblackkeysfanlounge.com/forum/topic/the-black-keys-live-dvd/page/2
4. Dan Auerbach psychedelic beard shirt. Bought this on the Keep It Hid tour obviously. I've never seen anyone else with one although I'm sure there are plenty out there. It's a bit tight on me, should've got a size larger... http://theblackkeysfanlounge.com/forum/topic/new-black-keys-shirts
5. 7" Black Keys/Devo split. Black Keys song is "Ohio". I won this after buying the Tighten Up /Howlin' record store day single. There was a "hidden" message on the vinyl... not all that rare anymore because I think they actually pressed a bunch and sold them outright as well. But I thought it would round out the list. http://theblackkeysfanlounge.com/2010/04/record-store-day-surprise-2010/

Whatchoo got???

The only things I got are vinyl, I bought all their albums on vinyl. I then decided i wanted to collect all their 7" records aswell, which I achieved, including the leavin trunk she said she said 7", the flaming lips split, and the devo split, which I guess are the rarest. Also got the you're the one cd with the live version of work me.

Edit: I also managed to get the double expanded version of brothers, its the one with the white cover, numbered, with the bonus live session on 10" vinyl

i have an interesting one...

back on the old official forum (circa Magic Potion release), a board member started a contest, awarding the best Black Keys story with a signed poster. I won the contest, and got a Black Snake Moan poster mailed to me, both sides signed by Dan and Pat. Along with the poster was a hand-written note from the board member, which turned out to be none other than Chuck Auerbach (Dan's dad). The note was written on his letterhead from his antiques business in Akron, which featured a sketch of Chuck's face, drawn by Dan. It's an interesting and thoughtful memento which I have kept tucked away safely for the past few years.

I always mis out on the cool "rare" stuff.

Cool off-topic story about RSD though. This past RSD I woke up feeling like absolute crap, so I didn't make it out. Well, a week or two later I go to the record shop to pick something up. I walk through the vinyl section and see both Black Angels RSD releases, Phosgene Nightmare and Another Nice Pair, just sitting on the shelf. I put back what I originally went to get and snag those two records. The guy at the check out desk said "I can't believe that these were still here".

I'm still gathering up the TBK releases on vinyl, only have TBCU, thickfreakness, Rubber Factory, and Brothers so far.

fascinating!

I don't have anything I would classify as particularly "rare" but I have posters from each of the shows I've been to, about a dozen in total. My two favorites are a 2006 Electric Factory show with a tiger and if you look at it right you can see a collage of blues musicians, and one I didn't actually go to myself, but a 2003 Australian tour poster that a friend there got for me. I don't have a picture of it offhand.

What I'd REALLY like (not that I'm not happy about the things I already have), is to get Dan/Pat AND Chuck to sign my Thickfreakness record. You know, because Chuck helped write Hard Row.

@Incinerator - make Chulahoma your next vinyl purchase. I mean it!

Word on the Chulahoma, may have to pick that up on Amazon or see if my go-to store can order it in. My sister-in-law has Chulahoma on vinyl, and it's making me a little jealous.

Here's my stash...

- Black Keys/Devo split 7" "Ohio"
- Black Keys/Flaming Lips split 7" "Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles"
- Live at Emo's DVD (Rubber Factory)
- "Hard Row" single (CD) from the UK, "Evil" is the B-side
- "Till I Get My Way/Girl Is On My Mind" single (Australia), "Flash of Silver" in track 3
- Japanese version of Rubber Factory (CD) including "Summertime Blues" as track 14 and all packaging written in Japanese. (I put it into my computer at work once, and the Windows Media Player brought up all the track info in Kanji...not at all helpful, but kinda cool.)
- Poster from First Ave show in Minneapolis on Magic Potion tour
- Poster bought for me by a friend, can't remember which show off the top of my head, has a bull on it
- Poster bought for me by my wife, shows Dan and Pat as Civil War drum and fife duo

No autographs or anything like that. I'm currently working on completing my TBK vinyl collection, still need a couple of albums on wax...

Well seein as we're having a "whose got the biggest tbk fetish dick swinging comeptition" i've got:

- a petri dish of dans spit/sweat which i collected when he did a head bang and splattered my face.
- a vile full of my first uncontrollable jizz release from when i attended a tbk show for the first time.
- a lock of pats gooch hair which i trimmed while he was unconcious and covered in piss in their mini van... i new that santa suit would blend in...

on a serious note, i have nothing except their albums/2 dvds and some absolutely rockin memories... in fact one tbk gig probably goes down in my personal history books as one of the best nights out i've ever had, you don't even wanna know what shit went down that night haha!

[i]4. Dan Auerbach psychedelic beard shirt. Bought this on the Keep It Hid tour obviously. I've never seen anyone else with one although I'm sure there are plenty out there. It's a bit tight on me, should've got a size larger... http://theblackkeysfanlounge.com/forum/topic/new-black-keys-shirts:?:

I've got the same psychedelic beard t-shirt. The tan colored one...only it's too small for me now. I bought it when I first saw Dan and the Fast Five at the El Rey here in Los Angeles. My girlfriend at the time kept the shirt in her handbag and after the show I noticed a big black stain on the side of the shirt. Apparently some of her makeup exploded in her bag and ruined the shirt, so I've never gotten to really wear it.

But I still have it. At the time, Jamie was Dan's tour manager and I e-mailed him and asked if there was any way I could purchase another one via him or PayPal or something, but he never got back to me. Gah, I really wish I had a larger size and one that wasn't ruined with a big black stain.

Favourite t-shirt design ever.

FAT LIGHTNING

I have Dans guitar. I saw him at a guitar show in Columbus and he had a stash of his stuff for sale. There was an Airline Folkstar, some old Dan Armstrong/EHX pedals and an ampeg Gemini. Probably THE Gemini we all wish we had. Long story short I ended up buying a 60's Framus Strato from Dan. He and Bob Ross both said it had been used on an album. Pics to come. There is also a video of me buying it from him.

I own everything ever released by Dan/the keys on vinyl, pats drum stick, dans guitar and some promo keep it hid posters and stuff.

Looooots of Keys items floating around my house.

No B.S. Rock and Roll.
