I think the album is "You Better Keep Still"... You had The Auerbach solo album in mind!

...I hear the resemblence of the two a bit.

There was a discussion about this on the home page some time ago. I think it's more inspiration than invention. Fact is blues music is all inspiration / feeling - the inventing of blues music was over by the mid 1960's. 1-4-5 only goes so far

Yea, shit (She's long gone) was driving me crazy when i first heard it because i recognized the hook but couldn't place it. Then it came to me and i made mention of the similarity in my review of Brothers back in May: "She's long Gone" seems to have a hook from something long ago as an influence. Muddy Water's "She's alright",from his psychedelic 1968 album "Electric Mud" (which is stellar by the way). But i question if that was the original influence, or if Radio Moscow's "Lucky Dutch" off their debut album (in which Dan produced) may have directed Dan in the direction of Muddy's hook. Or, if it was the other way around and Dan turned Parker Griggs (Radio Moscow's guitarist, lead singer ect.) onto it. I wanted to ask Parker this very question when i saw RM in Cleveland back in the spring, but didn't get the chance.

Yeah, I had a feeling that it was already mentioned long ago. But I just wanted to post the original song so people wouldn't have to search for it (for comparasion).

Electric Mud is an interesting album. The timing of it, along with Muddy selling himself(out), and the mixed reviews of it. I think it was a good album, considering he wasn't even sold on the idea of it.
