Fact Check Fail! "Auerbach's blues pedigree certainly feels well earned: He watched Hill Country patriarch (and former Fat Possum labelmate) Junior Kimbrough wail at his legendary juke joint before it was torched in 2000". Come on, Spin. I've come to expect these mistakes from the blogosphere, but Spin has people who are paid to check these kinds of things, don't they? I've played that Wikipedia game, too. Leave it to Pat to start with ricotta fucking cheese, though. Also, that photo is awesome.

Turns out TBK is one of three Artists of the Year for Spin, thus three different covers, thus I predict I'm going to spend a lot of time, gas and frustration looking for a copy with the guys on the cover. Posted 1 year ago #

Just remember not to slow down in East Cleveland... The fact-checking thing really bothers me. I am constantly befuddled by how many people interview the guys and have things blatantly wrong. I do not conduct interviews myself, but I have to believe that knowing your shit before asking someone a bunch of questions is a matter of respect. If I were interviewing Dan and/or Pat, and I asked them about the song "Lighten Up", for example, I would expect them to punch me in my face and walk out, not becuase they're violent guys but because I didn't have enough respect for their time to get the fucking song title (or whatever other piece of info you can think of) right. Just my two cents. People are pissing me off today... Props to the guys for all the recognition they're getting, it's about time. "We run this shit like a Wendy's. @YouEvil - Totally with you. Though I suspect "Lighten Up" was just a typo (which still should have been caught and corrected before being published) because Dan seems like the kind of guy who would have no compunction about correcting someone on that. @dothetrunk - You know you're from the Akron area when a 35-minute drive can be described as "just". You know you're from LA when you expect to sit in 2 hour traffic to get from one end of the city to the other. Because of drizzle. LA drivers are the worst. In case you have no time because you're stuck in traffic, or you can't find it, you can buy it here for cover price + $2.55 shipping. https://magazineimpulse.com/content/january-2011-best-2010-black-keys Posted 1 year ago #
