I hope the next album takes the Sabbath approach to heavy and sounds like one of these guys... Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats

I just downloaded the black keys on npr in 2007 and it's the most amazing live recording I've heard of the band. Dan's vocals are so intense. I wish he would sing like he used to on the new album. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=9655115 Posted 9 months ago #

Yeah I know! That was the main reason why I wanted to download it. Can't believe how amazing that song is live, and I love the transition right into the flame. Posted 9 months ago #

This makes me nervous.. I just hope-as was mentioned earlier the thread-that there is goin' to be some material that can be played live as a two-piece... Just some nasty two-piece Rock N' Roll, and I will happy.. Pig-in-shit happy. Attn Crackheads: Spring is here. Time to pawn your heater! Posted 9 months ago #

Stackshot, I really wish you hadn't posted that. That Strange Desire makes everything after it sound like Pat Boone. Posted 9 months ago #

i think that strange desire is possibly one of my favourite songs live... i've said it before an i'll say it again, his vocals are just fuckin epically raw! bring that shit back man!!! Posted 9 months ago #

Good god.. That version of Strange Desire gives me chillbumps.. Its sounds like his vocals chords are going to tear. Also sounds like he is singing into homemade-can-type microphone.. Love it. Posted 9 months ago #

Glad I contributed something good haha. I really hope the new album is close to being that heavy. The black keys did blues, garage rock, hip hop, pop, it'd be interesting to hear their take on metal/punk. I'm not a big fan of metal, but I love punk music. Posted 9 months ago #

Dan did a new interview, there wasn't much about the new album, but he did say "We came up with some cool ideas. But there’s no apparent direction as yet. Although I know it’s just going to be Pat and me." and by that I hope he means that it's going to be a 2 piece album, and In my opinion that's when they sound their best. Here's the rest.http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/theticket/2012/0817/1224322292556.html "F**k the white ones, The Black Keys got so much soul" - Pharoahe Monch Posted 9 months ago #

I think Dan is trying to say something like : " There's me and Pat in the band so it will allways sound like The Black Keys no matter what ". I don't think they will or can go back to making a record as just a duo right now. I hope they will but I don't think so. Posted 9 months ago #
