If you count NYE,

The Black Keys, The Greenhornes
Those Darlins
Jessica Lea Mayfield
The Greenhornes, Hacienda
RSD in Nashville followed by...you guessed it! The Greenhornes
PUJOL
Two Headed Dog
James Leg
Had tickets for Arcade Fire (missed the show)
Had tickets for Ween (missed the show)

There are so many more that I need to see.

Jill-I'm sorta kinda jealous of your list.
Rufus-Problem solved. Stop working.

Sadly the only thing I got around to was the QOTSA gig in Philly.

I missed a great opportunity last night to see The Stone Foxes here Roc City. 2.00 cover. Music festival. Was stoked and planning on attending but my daughter was ill so bummer and poor me and no one gives a rip and all that rot. Point is... from all I hear from others who have seen them live and from their music which I have been exploring lately, this is a band you don't want to miss. If you get the chance to see them, GO!

It is a charity benefit show for an organization called Kentuckians for the Commonwealth. I'm thinking, but I don't know for sure, that there will be a mix of each one solo and then some of them all together. The two other guys have an album together called "Dear Companion" that Jim James produced and is featured on. I think they'll probably be playing some stuff off that. I am sooo excited!

I'm with ya dude, this year has been an o-fer. Tougher to get out now with work and a little kid at home.

@Jillyrose23, definitely a little jealous of the Blitzen Trapper/Dawes on your list. I wasn't on the ball and tix sold out too quickly.

Strange Times

Unfortunately I only saw two shows this year. In the spring I caught Rush on their Time Machine tour, and in the summer I saw The Black Keys with Cage the Elephant opening for them.

The Rush show was pretty good. I'm only really a fan of certain parts of their career, but Moving Pictures is defintely included in that, so it was nice to hear the whole album live. Geddy Lee has always had one of those weird voices, so even at 50 or however old he is now he still sounded pretty good.

Can't say I cared too much for Cage the Elephant. I can't stand that Shake Me Down song that gets played all the time on the radio, though, so I wasn't expecting much. The singer really sounded muffled so I was worried the acoustics were off, but fortunately when the Keys came on Dan's voice sounded clear, so I guess it was just their singer that was the problem.

The Black Keys were pretty great that night. It was my first time seeing them live and I was suitably impressed. I enjoyed the playlist. It was nice to hear a good mix of stuff from their whole catalogue. Most importantly both Dan and Pat seemed really energetic and enthused, and their playing was spot on.
