Since The Black Keys will be playing a handful of shows in the first few months of 2012, I thought it would be cool to see what everyone wants to see/hear.

As most of us know, The Black Keys usually make one setlist and stick to it on a particular tour. I wanted to know what your dream setlist for a Black Keys concert would be. Since many of us would say "their entire catalog", I am going to limit it to a 20 song set with a 2 song encore. Order the songs into a concert feel. Feel free to include rare TBK songs, their hits, or covers they've never done, but you would kill to see/hear. I am so excited to see what you all come up with.

As for mine, I haven't come up with it yet...perhaps in a few more days. I need to really think about it. However, I'm sure there are some people out there that know exactly what their perfect setlist would be.

READY! SET! GOOOO!

I love it! I never considered starting and ending like you did, but I think it would be great. I'm perfecting my perfect setlist. It's a bit more mainstream though, since I started being a fan with Brothers. A lot of people on the board seem to be longtime fans that want like more of what they were 10 years ago. I am the complete opposite. I loved Brothers so look for stuff earlier in their career that resemble that. But then again, I have never seen a show, so the feeling might be completely different. But from what I am seeing, your setlist is a MONSTER. I'd go to that show!

It's cool, like ya said, "dream setlist". Doesn't matter it you're a "newb"! Gotta start somewhere eh?..I did model it after the format of their recent tour. But who knows what the next one will be like.

Great setlist there. I see you left out Stack Shot Billy...one of my favorites, hmmmzzzzz.
No El Camino songs on your dreamsetlist, nice! I really think they should open every show with Thickfreakness. They very often did...killersong to start a show with. My mind is ramblin...for sure...another one of my favorites. The tone of Dan's guitar in that song on Chulahoma is so so so freakin awesome. Would love to see them play that one live.
I'd also would like them to play If you ever slip. Love that one to. The rest of your choices are great!

@Rollercoaster.. Ha! Yea, the lack of El Camino songs, or absence of, is really due to the fact that I haven't heard them yet.
If You Ever Slip is a,great choice as well! My favorite "rarities" are Evil, Wicked Messenger, and Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles, but I was tryin to keep it to 20 songs or less.
Couldn't agree with ya more on My Mind is Ramblin'. Its epic for sure!

This post just reminds me... and no, I am not being rude or alienating to a new person (I extend my sincere welcome)... and I am not wanting to go rounds with anyone over the bands I am about to mention but I think what is mentioned here...

"...more of what they were 10 years ago. I am the complete opposite."

... illustrates beautifully what some of us are fearing/feeling/lamenting "Like pussies" and various other vulgarities being tossed at us pathetic losers who dislike change and want to cling to the past... (italics = sarcasm here).

I love some shit on Brothers. I am sure I will love some shit on Camino. But yeah, there is something golden (for me) in the early stuff. Not at all implying that everyone should feel as I do.

Still, can't help thinking U2 BJT and AJT (before Joshua Tree and after Joshua Tree); Van Halen BH and AH (before Hagar and after Hagar) soulless band ruining bastard that he is! Sorry. *ahem* I can become excitable. )

Just hoping this all is not BB and AB (say it with me, "before Brothers and after Brothers”).

Even if it is, it'll take me time to adjust is all. I evolved to embrace the new U2 and even love them, but nothing has ever been kike it was BJT. Never embraced Hagar The Horrible... did you guess?

Great dream set list Mr.ssippi.

Testify

Open with something punchy like "No Trust", "Aeroplane Blues" or "Have Love Will Travel"
Have some slower songs like "So He Won't Break" & "I'm Glad" in the mix
Play a few new songs. Just a pinch.
End with "Till I Get My Way". - I've only heard them nail this once. Most performances of this song the tempo seems off and their best performance of it was during some Magic Potion period. I can't remember where I saw the video. Hopefully it's not lost forever.
